Job Description:

Data Centre Operations Specialist
To ensure secure, compliant, and efficient end-to-end datacentre operations by enforcing standards, coordinating technical teams, and maintaining alignment with Uptime Institute TCOS operational requirements.
The main duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensure datacenter operations align with Uptime Institute Tier Certification of Operational Sustainability (TCOS) requirements.
- Enforce datacenter policies, procedures, and access controls.
- Maintain and update operational documentation (SOPs, MOPs, EOPs).
- Maintain operational readiness for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain change management governance for all datacenter activities.
- Liaise with the Technical Environment and Facilities teams (power, cooling, fire systems, access control).
- Monitor adherence to maintenance schedules (UPS, generators, cooling systems).
- Validate that preventive maintenance activities are properly executed.
- Track incidents and ensure proper root cause documentation.
- Ensure structured cabling standards are maintained.
- Approve and supervise rack layout and equipment installations.
- Maintain asset registers.
- Enforce cabling and labelling standards for network and power cabling.
- Act as primary operational liaison for colocation customers.
- Coordinate rack allocations and cage setups.
- Supervise customer equipment installations and decommissioning.
- Ensure client activities comply with datacentre policies.
- Support remote hands and smart hands services.
- Track SLA adherence for colocation services.
- Ensure compliance with physical security controls (access logs, escorting procedures).
- Conduct regular safety inspections (fire suppression, emergency exits, PPE compliance).
- Enforce environmental standards (temperature, humidity thresholds).
- Maintain accurate documentation (floor plans, power capacity, cooling capacity).
- Track capacity utilization (space, power, cooling).
- Identify operational improvement opportunities to enhance resilience and efficiency.
- Contribute to incidents/tickets review with vendors or 3rd party support
- Inform and advice SMC and management on issues related to systems operations.
- Contribute to QoS reports through coordination with Service Management Center.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters in Computer Engineering / Information & Communications Technology/ Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS) / Certified Datacenter Professional (CDCP) or equivalent
- 2 years experience in mission critical datacenter environments
