Role Purpose
The Chief Commercial Officer is responsible for defining and executing the company's overall Marketing and Communications strategy to drive revenue growth, strengthen brand positioning, and enhance customer engagement. The role provides strategic leadership across all marketing functions while ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Growth
- Lead the development and execution of the integrated Marketing and Communications strategy aligned to corporate objectives.
- Actively contributes to corporate strategy formulation by providing deep market insight and competitive intelligence.
- Drive revenue growth through innovative product positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market initiatives.
- Ensure clear market differentiation through segmented offerings, customer-centric propositions, and brand positioning.
Marketing, Brand & Communications
- Oversee all marketing functions including market research, product management, pricing, advertising, public relations, digital and social media, and Wholesale & Roaming.
- Safeguard and enhance brand equity, ensuring consistency across all customer touchpoints.
- Define and implement the company's sponsorship and external communications strategy in line with Group guidelines.
- Monitor and optimize the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and communication channels to maximize ROI.
Customer & Market Insight
- Ensure continuous understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity through research, analytics, and insights.
- Lead customer experience-driven initiatives informed by data and market intelligence.
Commercial Enablement
- Partner closely with Sales, B2B and Wholesale to support achievement of commercial targets through promotions, campaigns, and tailored offers.
- Provide strategic input into product development and lifecycle management.
- Support distribution and deployment strategies through geo- marketing insights.
Planning, Budgeting & Performance
- Lead the development and execution of annual marketing and communication plans, with regular performance tracking and updates.
- Contribute to budgeting processes, ensuring effective allocation of marketing investments.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining marketing effectiveness.
- Provide regular reporting to the CEO and Executive Committee on marketing performance, project progress, and time-to-market (TTM).
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, develop, and inspire the Marketing team, ensuring high performance and capability building.
- Define and implement talent development and succession plans within the function.
- Oversee performance management processes, including periodic and annual appraisals.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, IT, and Customer Experience teams.
Stakeholder & External Relations
- Represent the company in key external engagements and industry platforms.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships that enhance brand visibility and market positioning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Any master's degree in any related field
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in the telecommunications or technology sector.
- Experience in emerging markets is a strong advantage.
